We have been working very hard since last year’s K5K and we have been pouring over your responses to our survey on how we can improve the event. We would like to share with you just some of the main changes that you will see this year:

  1. The route for the 5K has been officially CERTIFIED (USATF # OH11036MW)
  2. The course has been changed to make it a true 5K. Runners will now circle Ely Square at the beginning of the race.
  3. NEW START TIMES
    1. Registration opens at 7 a.m.
    2. Walkers go at 8 a.m.
    3. Runners go at 8:30 a.m.
    4. Awards immediately following race
  4. This year’s race will be electronically timed using MYLAPS CHIP TIMING SYSTEM. This will provide us with more accurate times for all of our runners.
  5. Runner’s times will start when they cross the start line and end when they cross the finish line.
  6. ONLINE REGISTRATION: New this year Runners and Walkers will have separate links to register online. You will be able to register multiple people with one transaction. Also new, Runners will be able to register and pay online onwww.kerstetter5k.com
  7. RESTROOMS! We will be providing plenty of port-a-potties this year

We sincerely appreciate those who took the time to fill out the surveys or who have emailed us with ideas. Know that we are working hard to improve the K5K so that one day soon this event will be considered one of the premiere 5K’s in Ohio.
